April Fool's 2010 - Decreased Gravity

April Fool's 2010 - Decreased Gravity Tube. Duration : 4.93 Mins.

This is a little joke I played on my 5th grade class this past year. It was 4:30 in the morning two months ago that I woke up with a fiendishly clever idea. This idea was so brilliant that I couldn't help but begin work and keep going nearly until school was nearly ready to begin at 8:20. I wanted it to be awesome. It was April Fool's Day two months ago, and I decided to play a little prank on my class. You see, I've never played a practical joke on my whole class before (at least that I can remember) and I thought that I'd do one this year. Why? Just because. I did a little research. It seems that back in 1976 an astronomer, Patrick Alfred Moore, pulled a prank on BBC radio listeners. He stated that as Pluto passed behind Jupiter, it would cause decreased gravity temporarily on Earth. Hundreds of people were completely faked out. It was brilliant. I decided to recreate the hoax—after all—I'm all about keeping things green and recycling whenever possible. Also, this idea was much too good to NOT use. I copied the HTML code from the Wikipedia as well as the NBC website. I put this code into Dreamweaver (my webpage creation software) and began to rewrite portions of the sites...after all I wanted it to look real. I changed the dates, added information, and made the Wikipedia site not state anywhere in it that this was a hoax which happened in 1976, but rater a late-breaking story which had been on the 11 o'clock news the night before; therefore, many of the students may not ...

Many local population opinion that volcano was about to erupt and mayhem ensued.

In 1957, the well respected Bbc television programme Panorama ran a now celebrated April Fools hoax, showing Swiss farmers harvesting spaghetti from trees. They also claimed that the despised pest, the spaghetti weevil, had been all but eradicated. A large whole of population contacted the Bbc wanting to know how to grow their own spaghetti trees. It was, in fact, filmed in St. Albans in England and not Switzerland.

1962 saw Swedish national television broadcast a 5 microscopic extra on how viewers could get colour Tv naturally by placing a nylon stocking in front of the screen. A rather in-depth description on the physics behind the phenomenon was included, I wonder how many population suddenly felt foolish as they excitedly followed the guidance and it then dawned on them that it was all a hoax.

10 Foolishly cordial April Fool's Day Pranks

Kids love April Fool's Day as much, if not more, than adults so show your kids how they can have some friendly fun on this foolishly fun day with some of these April Fool's Day friendly pranks:

1. Green Eggs and Ham. Moms or Dads, fool your child by telling them that Dr. Seuss visited early in the morning and made them green eggs for breakfast. Before putting the eggs in the pan, put a few drops of green food coloring and then scramble them up for your kids to eat.

2. Do you have teenagers? Then I'm sure the first thing they do is check their text messages. If they're not sleeping with that phone, then at night when they go to bed, get their phone and re-organize all their settings. Then, send them a text message saying "April Fool's Day".

3. Pen & Ink. Kids can remove the ink cartridges from most of their parents pens by just unscrewing the pen. Tape all the ink cartridges under a desk or table. Tape a note to the pen that says, "April Fool's Day! If you need to write on top of your desk, today you might be well served to think upside down and inside out, and write on the lowest instead."

4. Getting Dressed. Tie all of Dad's socks together in one long rope. At the end of the last sock, safety pin on a note that says, "April Fool's Day".

5. You're Late, You're Late, For a Very prominent Date. change the current date on the victim's computer calendar to a few years in the future and watch all of the upcoming calendar items pop up as missed items. The victim will have to frame out what has happened.

6. Changing the Sheets. during the day, change the sheets and covers on the victims bed, so the comforter goes down first and the sheets last. Make the bed so the victim's head is where their feet normally are.

7. Reorganize. Move the objects in your food cupboard to your pots cupboard and your pots to where you keep the tupperware and so on. Leave a note in at least one cupboard that says, 'April Fool's Day'. Watch as your parents open and shut cupboards finding for what they need. Anyone you move though, remember you'll probably be the one who will have to put it all back.

8. Blow it All Up. Blow up a container or two of balloons and fill a room with them. Throughout the day, have balloons in silly spots like replacing all his/her toys in his/her toybox with balloons.

9. Lazy Does It. Easy and Fun to Watch, naturally hiding the t.v. Remote control can cause chaos in any home these days. Despite the fact that most of us could just get up and change the channel, we will instead spend hours searching for the remote. For this foolish joke, turn the t.v. On to something you know the victim won't want to watch, then march to hide the remote. A preferable hiding spot would be one where there is a hint that they go covering rather than watch t.v. - perhaps sitting inside their running shoes. Leave notes in some of the inescapable hiding spots with clues to the final destination.

10. Spring is in the Air. Back in the day, kids used to toilet paper people's houses. There are a slew of reasons why that's not a good idea anymore, for which I won't go into now, but I read them all on Mamapedia and many made sense. However, a more innocent and sweet version of this would be to cut out sweet spring decorations and decorate your parents' cars, or kitchen, or bathroom. Using kid safe scissors, draw and cut out lots of flowers and other spring items (ask your educator or someone else adult for help if you need to) and attach them with tape to windows, mirrors or other non-painted surfaces.

10 Foolishly cordial April Fool's Day PranksRep. Fillmore Plays Tasteless April Fools Joke on Arizona's Schools Video Clips. Duration : 1.93 Mins.

Rep. John Fillmore on the floor of the Arizona House of Representatives, mocks Democrats efforts to restore funding for Arizona's schools. Upon taking the microphone, Fillmore began by stating how much he respected the Democrats in fighting for their amendment. He said he rose to support the amendment. However, halfway through the speech, Fillmore exclaimed "April Fools" and derided the amendment saying it was throwing away more of the state's money. This is a far cry from 2006 when Fillmore, then a candidate for the legislature, said he was a supporter of all-day kindergarten.
